BBC Drama Production are looking to recruit a Senior Researcher to provide support to the Story Producer and Story Editors, on a 12-month attachment/fixed term contract.

Key responsibilities include:
- Attending story conference and monthly story meetings and being confident and articulate when pitching research stories and research support in these meetings;
- Creating and developing research-based storylines in conjunction with the Story Producer and the rest of the senior team;
- Seeking out and identifying issues pertinent to EastEnders and presenting them to the editorial team as potential story ideas;
- Reading Story Documents to check for factual inaccuracies, offering creative solutions to any issues;
- Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with experts, practitioners, and with people whose life experience is relevant.

Key attributes for candidates include:
- Significant experience as a researcher at a senior level, preferably on a continuing drama series;
- A strong knowledge of and passion for EastEnders;
- Able to handle confidential information with tact and sensitivity;
- A broadly based knowledge and a familiarity with conventional and specialised sources of information and research techniques;
- An informed interest in drama research and production.

- Attending and contributing to Coronation Street's story conferences;
