Top Media Job of the Day

new job post Commissioner Development Programme – Factual & Entertainment

Employer: Sky
Location: London

Sky has a fantastic opportunity to join its Entertainment team as part of the CDN Commissioner Development Programme.

You will be working within existing Factual and Entertainment Commissioning teams for a year and will take part in an executive development programme including workshops, master classes and networking events.

The year-long programme will give exceptional access to the whole commissioning process in Sky’s Factual and Entertainment units – and will help you to build an incredible set of skills and contacts which will be of value whether you go on to commission or work in the independent sector.

You will be responsible for working on commissions through from inception and development to commission, ensuring that they are of sufficient scale and ambition and remain consistent with the overall strategy and vision for Sky – surprising, genre-busting.

You will have to keep up to date with the industry including what the other broadcasters are doing in documentaries, formats and non-scripted programming and also ensure that you apply up to date knowledge of Ofcom rules and internal processes dealing with controversial programmes.

This role requires an individual who has a strong record in TV production or senior people from other areas of the creative and digital industries.
You will able to demonstrate an ability to get on with major talent in front of and behind the camera and liaise with production companies on programme ideas and tactfully reject ideas that are unsuitable for Sky’s Entertainment portfolio.

Deadline: 10 April 2015
